Canadian Christmas Radio Stations for 2024


It's the month of November, and several radio stations around the world (including here in Canada) have begun to play all-Christmas music, with several stations keeping the Christmas playlist up until the end of 2024!


Here are your Canadian radio stations currently playing or planning to play Christmas tunes in 2024:

National

3 Breeze radio stations owned by Stingray has switched to all-Christmas music as of November 12th at 6am local time, while the Vancouver station at 104.3 FM (CHLG) started playing all-Christmas music as of November 15th at 12am PT.

11 Move Radio stations owned by Bell Media have switched to all-Christmas as of November 22nd at 9am local time.

British Columbia

Ocean 98.5 (CIOC-FM) Victoria has switched to all-Christmas music as of November 29th at 8am PT.


Alberta

Mix 107.9 (CKFT-FM) Fort Saskatchewan is playing Christmas tunes as of October 31st at 3pm MT.

Star 95.9 (CHFM-FM) Calgary has switched to all-Christmas music as of November 14th at 8am MT.


Manitoba

Kiss 102.3 (CKY-FM) Winnipeg has flipped to all-Christmas music as of November 14th.


Ontario

Jack 92.3 (CJET-FM) has changed to "Santa Radio Canada" for the 2nd year in a row, and you can hear it on 92.3 FM in Ottawa/Smiths Falls, on the all-new Seekr app, and online across Canada.

CHYM-FM Kitchener-Waterloo, 103.1 Fresh Radio (CFHK-FM) London, 104.3 Fresh Radio (CFHK-FM) Kingston, Magic 106.1 (CIMJ-FM) Guelph has flipped the switch to Christmas music as of November 15th.

101.1 Big FM (CIQB-FM) Barrie has flipped to all-Christmas as of November 16th at 12am ET.

98.1 CHFI-FM Toronto has officially flipped the switch to all-Christmas as of November 18th at 8:45am ET.

104.5 Fresh Radio (CFLG-FM) Cornwall is playing all-Christmas music as of the weekend of November 16th.


Prince Edward Island

Ocean 100 (CHTN-FM) Charlottetown has switched to all-Christmas music a few weeks ago.

After 1 year and over 125 editions, I decided to stop publishing the weekly top program list. The reason why? Because the TV listings section on the Gracenote website was apparently shut down last Wednesday. I usually use the Gracenote site for the upcoming programs airing on linear TV the following week, but unfortunately, the website was shut down like I said, last Wednesday, following the main source Zap2it took their listings offline in favour of the schedule page of the American pay-TV network NewsNation. Explaining the Big Canadian Specialty Channel Shuffle of 2024-25

With less than 2 weeks until the calendar flips to 2025, there's some big changes to the Canadian specialty channel landscape, and that's because Rogers Sports & Media announced a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery's factual brands back in June, but some providers won't get the new Rogers channels that have WBD programs, including Bell, and a result, Corus Entertainment and Bell Media announced that some channels that had WBD programs will change names between the end of 2024 and the start of 2025! Here's a breakdown of the changes of these specialty channels that are impacted, by company: Bell Media Discovery Channel becomes USA Network, Investigation Discovery becomes Oxygen, Discovery Science becomes CTV Nature, Discovery Velocity becomes CTV Speed, and Animal Planet becomes CTV Wild, all of which will happen on January 1, 2025.
