Special Bulletin - Sid Seixeiro and Meredith Shaw Released as hosts of Citytv's Breakfast Television
We have some sad news to share with you today that Sid Seixeiro and Meredith Shaw have been released as hosts of Citytv's Breakfast Television.
Devo Brown announced the news this morning that the duo hosting the show for less than 2 years were no longer with the program.
Sid Seixeiro joined the show in March 2021, replacing Roger Petersen (now working at CTV News Channel), while Meredith joined in September 2023 from Bell Media, replacing Dina Pugliese who left the show after 17 years.
This comes less than a month after the network cut ties with longtime personalities Tracy Moore and Cheryl Hickey, in which the duo were originally assigned to host a new 5th national hour of the show, but Rogers Sports & Media scrapped the plans for the expanded 5th national hour.
In a statement to Rogers Sports & Media, it says: “We’re invested in Breakfast Television’s success and leadership in Canadian morning television, and we’ll announce exciting new plans in the coming weeks. As part of this evolution, we have parted ways with Sid Seixeiro and Meredith Shaw. We thank them for sharing their passion and energy with audiences every morning and wish them both the very best.”
The longtime morning staple on Citytv has been on the air since September 1989, but details for the future of the show will be announced in a couple of weeks.
